Has anyone else heard about the soon-to-be cinematic taxation law in Indonesia? Meaning no more imported movies. I understand that this is a patriotic blog that supposedly should somehow support this movement by the government as it somewhat benefits the country’s economy and the Indonesian cinematography. But I’m sorry to say, I could not contemplate any sensible reason that makes this acceptable to be approved.
First of all, we are not a communist country. In fact, communism is far from being legal. Recently we were named one of the most democratic countries in the world. So why does this not apply? Putting this law is similar to like adopting communism and slowly transforming this country into a communist country.
